Forensic and Remedial Engineering
We are expert in Forensic Engineering; (the art of building defect investigations). We carefully observe and collect all the evidence surrounding defects. We consider their age, type, shape, size, material and history, comparing this with our extensive experience database of similar defects, looking for common threads and atypical modes of material behaviour and failures.
We back this up with over 25 years of experience to produce diagnostic reports on the why, the when, the how and (for legal cases) the who, was behind a particular defect or building failure and provide advice on suitable methods of repair or remediation.
We are often called on to provide additional engineering and project management services including preparing technical specifications and tender documents, calling tenders, contract administration and project supervision.

- Structural Engineering Reports such as balcony collapse, awning collapse, subsidence and settlement
- Building Defects Reports including cracking in walls and flooring, waterproofing failure, concrete cancer, magnesite topping damage
- Dilapidation (Condition) Survey Reports: pre and post construction condition reports on properties adjoining developments
