Services
Since the time we opened our doors in 1982 we have successfully designed thousands of buildings and structures. City offices, huge factories, TAFE colleges, schools, cinemas, facades, shops, houses, film sets, outdoor entertainment events, exhibitions, decks, handrails, bookshelves……
We have had extensive experience across the board, being fortunate enough that most of our work comes through repeat clients.
Housing
We are mindful that the shapes, forms and details of a house can positively contribute to the wellbeing and happiness of those who dwell there.
Our approach to design of these buildings considers the detailing of junctions, the connections of members, the juxtaposition of materials and their characteristic long-term behaviours: in short, we provide a full and detailed design service.
And we carry this value engineering approach through to site: recognising the builder's construction preferences, supporting the architectural vision and ensuring the structural integrity is maintained.
Forensic and Remedial Engineering
We are expert in Forensic Engineering, the art of investigative engineering. We have over 25 years experience in the investigation of waterproofing failures, concrete cancer, building movements and general building defects. We provide structural reports, prepare dilapidation (condition) survey and building maintenance plans. Our project management skills cover preparation of technical specification and contract and tender documents for all types of remedial repairs, contract administration and project supervision.

Art and Innovation
We seek to be recognised as Australia’s leading structural engineering firm for art installations and film set design having developed unique skills through years of collaboration with the film exhibition and artistic worlds.
At Partridge Partners we are very aware that a “traditional heavy design” is not appropriate for these structures, and that the aesthetics of the objects and their performance is critical to the success of the art piece.
While permanent art installations are more akin to building structures where longevity and maintenance become issues we do not slavishly follow code dictates to determine loading but develop an understanding of the actual and realistic loading including often carrying out wind tunnel testing or assessment.
Film Set, Exhibition and Event Structures
We have contributed to many projects such as: Mad Max III, Matrix II & III, Superman Returns, Mask II, Sydney 2000 Olympic Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Doha 2006 Asian Games Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Canadian International Motor Shows, Sydney & Melbourne Motor Shows and Exhibitions, Audi 'Hotspot', nationwide outdoor concert events etc.
We are very aware that a "traditional heavy design" is not appropriate for these structures, and that the aesthetics of the pieces and their performance is critical to the success of the ceremony, film or event.

Facade and Glazing
Facades are the skin of buildings.
We design, investigate, test, report, and supervise new facades and help rejuvenate old, tired facades to give their inner buildings a new lease of life.

Commercial and Institutional
On larger projects we have worked for a variety of governmental and institutional clients often assisting in the heritage aspects of older structures.

Sustainability
We understand that our designs carry both a monetary cost and also a cost to the environment. There is an increasingly urgent imperative to construct our built environment whilst being more mindful of our natural environment.
