Echo Point Redevelopment (completed 2002)

Echo Point Redevelopment (completed 2002)

This was a complete re-working of this major tourist destination and won the Excellence Award in Design for 2004 given by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and also received the Presidents Award at the Edinburgh world congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects in June 2005.  The $6m project was carried out whilst keeping the site open to the public.  Partridge Partners were responsible for the design, documentation and supervision of the buildings, roadways, plaza, stormwater and retaining walls.

More detail on this project

HMAS Tingara Memorial Park - Rose Bay

Jane Irwin Landscape Architect was appointed landscape architect for the memorial park to the crew of HMAS Tingara. Our involvement included design and documentation of off form concrete memorial wall as well as paving and decking structures

Sam Fiszman Park

Transformation of a car park into a terraced public park dedicated to Sam Fiszman and honours the important role that refugees have played in our community. The design included numerous off form concrete retaining walls and stairways.

Beare Park - Elizabeth Bay

Redevelopment and upgrade of a traditional harbourside park into a modern park by Jane Irwin Landscape Architects for Sydney City Council.

The upgrade of historic Beare Park provided for subtle improvements to restore this much loved park. The path along the sea wall was improved, with the existing sandstone restored and new sandstone replaced the asphalt. There are improvements to the playground, new plantings and work reducing the visual impact of the fences and boundary walls of neighbouring properties and the Marina.

Two car parking spaces will be removed to connect this park with Kings Cross Rotary Park, with new environmentally sustainable paving in the car park to reduce storm water run off. The ageing palms are to be replaced, one at a time, with healthy, mature native palms.

The parks' heritage will be preserved with the protection and restoration of the fountains and celebrated with a new interpretive garden and seating area in Kings Cross Rotary Park.

Echo Point Katoomba Redevelopment (completed 2002)

Blue Mountains City Council engaged Tract Consulting to update the public areas around the Queen Elizabeth Lookout at Katoomba.

Partirdge Partners designed amenities buildings, the new lookout, numerous stone clad retaining walls and advised on and certified precast seating elements and balustrades.
