Preparation of defence of a claim of over $20 million in the Supreme Court of NSW requiring detailed reporting on all structural and glazing aspects of a 14-storey glass and granite curtain wall and 2-storey suspended glass assembly; site measurement of all 1500 glass panel intersection joints; theoretical joint closing calculations; preparation of rectification/repair documentation; attendance in court and giving of evidence and the briefing Brad Johanson, Prof. Vallabahn and other international experts on the giving of their evidence.

Investigation and preparation of report of spalling concrete to balconies and exposed slab edges, and water penetration through ground floor slab. Project management including preparation of specification of remedial works, tendering, contract administration and site supervision.

Uniting Church Ruin, Jersey Road, Woollahra

Investigation, measurement and monitoring of the 100-year old stone facade walls of this church that had recently been burnt out. Studies of long-term methods of stabilisation and design of immediate bracing system to prevent further collapse.

24 Storey Building, Bathurst Street, Sydney

Structural investigation and report on building facade of a 22-storey reinforced concrete-framed building with a precast concrete facade. The building was previously repaired 15 years ago and was showing further deterioration. The report was to investigate and test to determine present life expectancy and required remedial works.

Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Camperdown

Structural investigation and report on the facade of all building envelopes on the hospital campus including detailed appraisals on the Queen Mary Building, King George V Hospital and Page Chest Pavilion. The report quantified all defects into categories depending on the urgency of repairs, and prepared detailed repair methodologies and a budget estimate.

22-storey building – Milsons Point

Investigation and report on adequacy of windows, sliding doors and other glazing elements; investigation and report on adequacy of ‘Ritek’ walling used for the external load bearing façade. Preparation of rectification details for strengthening inadequate facade framing elements.

Australia Taxation Office, Bankstown

Investigation of a facade glazing waterproofing problem that occurred during the construction of this 6-storey building to determine whether the fault arose due to construction or design so that the insurance claim could be properly assessed countering opposing arguments.

Metroplaza Building, North Sydney

Investigation and laboratory testing of the causes of dislodgment of granite tiles from the concourse levels of this 30-storey building. Examination of site records and design specification to determine the cause of failure and whether the fault was one of design or construction.

5-storey commercial building - North Ryde

Full design audit of a 5-storey curtain wall; survey of the installation; report on required rectification; writing of a programme of rectification works and preparation of repair procedures and drawings; inspection of repairs; carrying out of negotiations to expedite final payment to contractor; final certification of design and construction of repair work and water testing under AAMA hose test.
