Andrew Derbidge

Andrew worked for several well known consulting firms in Sydney before joining Partridge Partners in early 2005. Whilst his work takes in all aspects of commercial and industrial construction, he has particular expertise in residential buildings and enjoys both domestic and large-scale residential designs. Andrew appreciates the diversity and contrasts of consulting engineering – best illustrated one day when he spent the morning working on a small garage extension in Paddington, then spent the afternoon working on two 57-storey twin towers for the financial business centre of Bahrain! Outside of engineering, Andrew is actively involved in the world of single malt scotch where he hosts whisky appreciation & education evenings, and also writes for several food and wine publications. He is a keen squash player, competing in Sydney’s Pennant competitions, and also enjoys both cricket and Aussie Rules, but these days only on television. Somehow in between all this, he manages to find time to spend with his wife and two young kids!
